Blue River Bookbinding sounds like a bustling modern bookbindery full of bookbinders and apprentices, doesn’t it? Alas, it is only I: an old-fashioned bookbinder operating a real old fashioned bookbinding and restoration studio in southern Indiana near Louisville, Kentucky. No automated, mass-production equipment here - only vintage and authentic traditional bookbinding tools and equipment. All work is done by hand, just as it has been done for hundreds of years, using techniques passed down through generations of fine binders. Modern innovations are embraced where they matter, in the use of archival, acid free papers and conservation-quality materials.
And since there are no apprentices, there is a bit of a waiting list. But it’s worth the wait.
The traditional bookbinding services available include custom design bookbinding, rebinding of books in new covers, durable and elegant book restorations, unobtrusive repairs, and preserving collectible books and magazines. Large family bibles are a specialty.

Question: What do you get when you cross a perfectionist bookbinder with a website? Answer: Nothing.
No bookbinder can serve two masters, for either she will create a modern web presence and restore no books, or restore many beautiful books and have a website that looks like this one.
